Kowa Evolution 135mm T3.5 x2 Anamorphic Lens PL Rental
The Evolution 2X anamorphic lenses are based on the original optical designs of the vintage and rare Kowa Anamorphics and the P+S TECHNIK lens rehousing. The original KOWA Anamorphic prime lenses were produced until the 1970's and four different primes were available: 40mm, 50mm, 75mm and 100mm.
"We discovered through feedback from DOP's that the original focal range was limited, so we engineered two additional focal lengths, a wide-angle and a telephoto 135mm, which match the look of the original set. We named our new set the Evolution 2X lenses", says the founder of P+S TECHNIK, Alfred Piffl, and continues, "Anamorphic is a wonderful format for visualizing stories."

Genuine Kowa Anamorphic Look
The look and bokeh of the Evolution 2X lenses match the genuine anamorphic look of the original KOWA Anamorphic lenses. The optical design of the Evolution 2X lenses is based on their original optical design and the front anamorphic principles. They are low in contrast and warm in color and can be made to flare. In addition to our two added focal lengths, the Evolution 2X lenses can also expand original lens sets by replacing or extending any of these focal lengths to your set.
